Zion Hill Baptist Church, located on the east side of Spartanburg, SC is currently seeking a part-time Administrative Secretary

This is a part-time position: 16 hours per week: Office Hours: Monday-Thursday, from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who wants to remain active in employment, but not full-time.

We are looking for an administrative professional to provide a variety of administrative and/or clerical tasks in support of the organization. Our ideal candidate will be organized and an efficient self-starter with the ability to interact professionally and positively with staff, church members, vendors, and members of the business community. Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • General office administrative activities: answering phones, relaying messages, making copies, etc. as deemed by the pastor.

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Manage the office, welcoming guests.

  • Maintain and ensure upkeep of office equipment & facilities.

  • Coordinate services and ensure payments are made on a timely basis.

  • Responsible for all incoming and outgoing mail; accepting, distributing, and dropping off mail for any outgoing shipments as needed.

 

Must Possess:

  • Prior working knowledge of Quickbooks (current version in use is Quickbooks Pro 2016)

  • Efficient with Microsoft Office Suite of Products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Ability to learn church receipting software (currently Membership +)

 

Ability To:

  • Update weekly giving reports

  • Process various tax payments: (Process monthly tax payments online, File quarterly state taxes online, Mail quarterly federal taxes, Mail all year-end tax forms)

  • Update reports for Treasurer

  • Build weekly bulletin by specified deadline

 

What Education/Experience You’ll Need to Have:

  • A high school diploma (required); associates degree preferred

  • Prior office administration experience (2 years preferred)

 

Benefits:

This is an hourly position with a starting pay rate of $12.00 an hour. This is a part-time position with no medical or retirement benefits. Candidate will receive one paid week of vacation (4 business days) annually.
