Ministry Opportunities

The Christmas Backpacks Ministry exists to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of children and families living in the Appalachian region and Upstate South Carolina. One of the greatest opportunities for impact comes during the Christmas season.

We are calling on South Carolina churches to partner with us by providing backpacks filled with essential items and gifts for children and teenagers. These backpacks are distributed at special outreach events where the Gospel is clearly shared, offering not only needed resources, but also the hope of Christ.

Each year, backpacks are delivered to schools in and around Jenkins, Kentucky, in partnership with Lester and Bessie McPeek. In addition, backpacks have been distributed across Kentucky and West Virginia, as well as on a Native American reservation in South Dakota.

Closer to home, this ministry also serves communities in Upstate South Carolina that are part of the Appalachian region, including Enoree, Gray Court, Downtown Spartanburg, and Taylors.

Through the generosity of churches and volunteers, the Christmas Backpacks Ministry continues to open doors for Gospel conversations and make a lasting impact in the lives of children and families.
