Romans 10:15 Missions Scholarship Guidelines

As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:11-15

Purpose

In alignment with our WMU Mandate of “Making disciples of Jesus who live on mission,” and with the understanding that our WMU Motives are BIBLICALLY-ROOTED, MISSIONS-FOCUSED, CHURCH-BASED, WORLD AWARE, and DENOMINATIONALLY-SUPPORTIVE, the Network WMU would like to provide assistance for members of Network Churches who would otherwise have difficulty in participating in a short-term mission trip due to funding. The funds available are made possible because of contributions of individuals and churches through the WMU Annual Spring Celebration offering and other contributions throughout the year. The amount available will depend upon gifts received.

Process

  • Application may be found at the Network Office or on the Network website WMU page.

  • Application must be submitted to the Network Office by mail or email.

  • Applications will be reviewed by Scholarship Committee for approval.

  • Checks will be made payable to the sponsoring Church or Organization.

Requirements

Applicant must be an active member of a Spartanburg County Baptist Network Church that needs financial assistance in order to participate in a short-term mission trip.

The mission trip should support the WMU Mandates and Motives.

Reporting

Applicants must be willing to “share their story” to the Network WMU and the sponsoring church or organization through written or visual means after the trip.
