Dates: June 27 - July 5, 2025

Service Location: Anchorage and Anchorage & Wasilla, AK

Housing Location: Church in Anchorage, AK

 

Trip Cost: Approx. $1700.00 pp (Includes: Airfare, Transportation, Housing, Food, Mission Materials, T-Shirts)

• Price: Depends on Airfare Cost so may be higher or lower for some, but I will average cost for total

• Baggage: Your Baggage cost Round Trip is your responsibility since we may be on different flights

• Team Mtg & Size: Sometime late April or early May in2025 (*Team Size: Maximum is 20 people)

 

Documents Needed: Driver’s License Only-No Passport Needed

• If you have a CDL (not required) or a regular license and are comfortable driving, please indicate your willingness and send a copy of your driver’s license and insurance card. *Most insurance companies cover you while driving in the USA, even in Alaska, but check with your insurance company to be sure.

 

Ministry Needs/Opportunities: 

1. Construction-MEN &/or WOMEN WELCOME

   1. We know we will do some sort of construction projects, but need to know who’s going first

   2. Other Ministry Work: We will also be doing a Vacation Bible School at Baptist Church & some community outreach as time permits. We will attend church at the church you are serving.

   3. Devotion Time: Will be held each night around 7:30-8:00 pm as well, except Fir 6/27 when we arrive and departure night on 7/4. We might attend Wed evening service in lieu of team devotion if they have it at Anchorage FBC.

2. Cooking-MEN & WOMEN WELCOME

   1. If you enjoy cooking and would like to make this your primary ministry during this trip or just help some, please let me know when committing. We are planning to have a team size of about 12-15+ so you would be assisting with cooking for 15+ people primarily for Breakfast and Supper. We will likely prepare Sandwich & Chip type meals for lunch each day. (*Bro. Paul arrives early to buy all the groceries but will coordinate the menu with you to ensure we stay within the food budget).

3. Onsite or Local Amenities: 

   1. Three Walmart Stores are within about 15 minute drive as is a couple of Costco stores 

   2. Home Depot & Lowes are located in Wasilla and Anchorage if needed there as well.

   3. Showers for men & women (3) and Washer & Dryer (1) onsite at church.

   4. Sleeping Arrangements: Ample bed space for up to 20 people, some queen beds for couples. (*I will need the gender make up to coordinate sleeping arrangements

   5. Blankets, Sheets & Towels are Provided-Towels are limited to two per week pp (*No Washcloths provided-If you desire this, you’ll need to bring your own or buy a pack there)

   6. Pillows: Bring your own pillow or plan to buy one and leave. Just bring Pillow Case)

   7. Gas Stations and other local markets as well as Carr’s grocery is within 5-10 min drive.

4. Weather Projections:

   1. June & July temps are wonderful, usually ranging between 65-75 degrees during the day & night-time temps in the mid 50’s. Evening jackets or sweaters are encouraged as needed.

   2. Church Temps: Usually comfortable but for those hot natured, you may wish to buy a fan. There are a few fans available on a first come first serve basis.

5. Sightseeing on Sunday Afternoon & Thur all day: *Meals are on your own Sunday afternoon & Thursday since everyone will be sightseeing and doing their own thing during these times, but you are free to eat breakfast at the church like Cereal, Oatmeal, Fruit, and even make sandwiches to take for lunch, etc. (*We’ll discuss Recreation Options later as the team is developed).

   1. (Keep in Mind I will have to coordinate transportation and will try to accommodate everyone as best as I can, but we will only have so many vehicles to use for the team)

   1. Deep Sea Fishing: approximate cost is $400for 6+ hour trip (May be out of Whittier (Groups of 5-6 only) or Seward (Groups of 8-12) *Must Book Early to ensure available spots, at least by February (50% Dep is usually required to reserve your spot so be prepared to pay this).

   2. Lake Fishing for Smaller Groups (*Great Guide I can recommend & connect you with also-Must Book Early because they are so popular-Trout, Walleye, Pike-depending on what’s running) *Approximate Cost is $175-$200 pp for 2-4 hours plus your one-day fishing license (Required)

   3. Glacier Tours in Whittier, AK area (*Approximate cost is $55-60 pp)

   4. Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center: Cost $12.50 Adults & $9.00 Kids

   5. Hiking-Free at Flattop Mountain Trail in Anchorage, but Parking is $5.00 

   6. Anchorage Museum & AK Native Heritage Ctr: *Cost for both is $29.95 with the Culture Pass

   7. Tour/Shop at Talkeetna, AK then Sightseeing to Hatcher Pass other areas, hiking as desired, , etc. as time permits. Since we don’t leave until Friday, no need to rush.

      1. Any expense on your day off is your responsibility, other than transportation. This is above and beyond the trip cost of $1700.00 per person.

6. Team Mtgs

   1. Team Mtg will be in late April or early May from 10:00-12:00 pm (*Tentatively) *More details will be given and discussed at meeting

7. Commitments: 

   1. If you are interested, you can: 

      1. Pay in full now: $1700.00

      2. Pay according to the Deposit schedule below or set up a Payment Plan:

         1. Deposit #1: $1000.00 Non-Refundable Deposit for half of airfare by 1/10/25

         2. Deposit #3: $350.00 on March 17, 2025

         3. Deposit #3: $350.00 on June 2, 2025

         4. If you prefer to work on a Monthly Payment Plan system, just call me to coordinate this privately.
